Meet the men who make Baker Company one of the most respected units in living history

Captain Grant Brooks
Captain Grant Brooks is the founder and commanding officer of the Baker Company, 1st Battalion, 505th PIR, 82nd Airborne Division Living History Unit. His journey into reenacting began in 2016, driven by a deep appreciation for history and a passion for sharing the stories of those who served during World War II. In 2020, he established the Baker Company unit with the mission of preserving the courage, valor, and legacy of the brave men of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 82nd Airborne Division.
Grant’s inspiration for creating the unit came after meeting and speaking with veterans of the 505th PIR. Their stories of sacrifice and camaraderie profoundly impacted him, sparking a dedication to ensuring their memories and experiences are not forgotten. Guided by the principles, values, and standards set forth by the veterans themselves, Grant poured countless hours and resources into crafting an authentic kit that reflects the professionalism and respect they deserve.
Grant leads with vision, integrity, and diligence, earning the respect and admiration of every member of the unit. His unwavering commitment to authenticity and his ability to inspire others have made him a trusted and respected leader. Under his guidance, the members of Baker Company work together to honor history with precision and professionalism, united by a shared dedication to the unit’s mission.

2nd Lieutenant Cade Fisher
2nd Lieutenant Cade Fisher serves as the backbone of the Baker Company, 505th PIR Living History Unit, leading with humility, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. Cade’s passion for history began at an early age, as he explored and studied various historical eras. Over time, his respect and admiration for the men and women who served in World War II deepened, shaping his dedication to honoring their legacy.
In 2021, Cade began meticulously researching and assembling a historically accurate kit, reflecting his commitment to authenticity and his appreciation for the sacrifices of WWII veterans. By 2022, he joined Lt. Grant Brooks in reenacting, quickly earning the respect and trust of his peers through his leadership skills, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication to the unit’s mission.
Cade’s role in the unit goes beyond reenactment; he is a proven leader whose passion for veterans and historical accuracy inspires those around him. His contributions ensure that Baker Company continues to honor the legacy of the 505th PIR with professionalism, respect, and authenticity.

Warrant Officer Jacob Riley
Warrant Officer Jacob Riley began his reenacting career in 2017 with H/505 in Southern California, where he developed a deep passion for preserving the legacy of the 505th PIR. He later transferred to HQ/505, serving as their communications officer, where his expertise and commitment to authenticity were quickly recognized.
Jacob’s knowledge of the 505th PIR has made him a trusted mentor to 1st Lt. Grant Brooks and the Baker Company Living History Unit. His dedication to research and historical accuracy has been instrumental in helping shape the unit’s portrayal of the 505th and ensuring their efforts honor the men who served.
Known for his professionalism and willingness to share his expertise, Jacob continues to play a key role in the unit’s mission to educate and preserve history.

Staff Sergeant Abe DeLisle
Staff Sergeant Abe DeLisle began his reenacting journey in 2015 with the 5th Rangers. However, while researching the stories of the 82nd Airborne Division, he discovered a love for honoring the legacy of the 505th PIR.
Since joining Baker Company, Abe has become a respected leader, known for his passion and empathy. He inspires those around him to uphold the highest standards of authenticity and respect in their portrayals. Abe’s dedication to preserving the history of the 505th PIR is a vital part of Baker Company’s mission.
Abe's love for his country doesn't stop at reenacting, he is also proud to serve in the US Army, Ohio National Guard.

Sergeant William McBride
Sergeant William McBride has been a dedicated reenactor since 2014, starting with an 82nd Airborne medic impression and later expanding his portrayal into a rifleman impression. Known for his adaptability, selflessness, and empathetic leadership, Will has become a cornerstone of the Baker Company, 505th PIR Living History Unit.
Will’s commitment to authenticity and education is evident in his meticulous attention to detail and his passion for preserving the stories of World War II. Beyond his contributions to the unit, Will dedicates much of his free time to teaching and mentoring others through his educational YouTube channel, Echos of the Past. Through his videos, he shares historical insights, reenacting tips, and lessons on preserving history with audiences worldwide.
As a leader, Will embodies the spirit of camaraderie and teamwork, always ready to guide and support fellow members of the unit. His ability to connect with others and inspire them to honor history with integrity has earned him the respect and admiration of his peers.
With a deep passion for history and a dedication to educating future generations, Sergeant McBride continues to play an essential role in the success and mission of Baker Company. His work ensures that the sacrifices and stories of the Greatest Generation remain alive and impactful for years to come.
